Transportation to the Wedding UPDATED!
For those of you planning to take the SUBWAY to the wedding, (which, by the way, I totally approve of. There is nothing better than looking fabulous on the 2,3 line! I speak from experience), remember that you will need to walk to the entrance on Washington Avenue, behind the Brooklyn Museum. The entrance on Eastern Parkway will be closed.
FOR GUESTS IN MANHATTAN , we are providing a BUS that will leave from the Hotel Roger Williams, 131 Madison Avenue (at 31st St.)There will be two buses leaving at separate times, 4:15 (for immediate family and those that might want to walk around the garden before the wedding) and 5:45.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE TIME FOR THE FIRST BUS IS NOW 4:15.
The first bus will leave the BBG for the Hotel Roger Williams when it reaches capacity, the second will leave at 12:15. The BBG can also coordinate car services.
For the DRIVERS FROM LONG ISLAND there is an alternative route NOT listed by the directions enclosed with the invitations. This is the Rosenblum PREFERRED route (more lights, less BQE madness). Take the Northern State Parkway to the Jackie Robinson Parkway. Exit at Bushwick Avenue; turn left at third traffic light onto Eastern Parkway; go 3 miles and turn left onto Washington Avenue (Brooklyn Museum on corner).

If you need a babysitter for the night of the wedding, I received a recommendation for the Baby Sitter's Guild. You can contact them directly at 212.682.0227 or coordinate through the Hotel Roger Williams, if you are staying there.

Other overnight options: We highly recommend the Hotel Roger Williams. We investigated a number of hotels in New York City/Brooklyn and this is the best deal. It is a high-quality hotel for an exceptionally low price. However, if you are too rich, too poor, too cool, not cool enough
- There are no hotels within walking distance to the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens.
- There is a Marriot located in downtown brooklyn. There is also a new Holiday Inn located in Park Slope. These hotels are closer to the wedding, but not within walking distance. If you decide to stay here, and do not have a car, please ask the hotel to call a car service for you.

Overnight FAQ:
- There will be a rehearsal dinner for out-of-town guests on Friday evening. Location TBA.

Background
We first met in @ 1999 through mutual friends. We ran into each other at social gatherings every couple of months for a few years until these same mutual friends got married in Las Vegas in 2003. After the wedding, Dave emailed Lauren and we had our first date soon after. We moved in together the following September and purchased an apartment together the next October. Dave proposed in February in our garden, with the other man in Lauren's life adding a meow for emphasis, Copernicus the cat. Here is a photo from when we first started dating.
(We mourned the loss of Copernicus in October. We are now joined by Amelia, named for Amelia Earhart, but really more of an Amelia Bedelia. She knows three words, "breakfast," "dinner," and "treat." Her favorite activities are eating, having her head rubbed, looking out the window for tom cats and stubbornly refusing to acknowledge an understanding of the word "No.")
Dave and Lauren live together in their Prospect Heights apartment. Dave negotiates contracts for a hedge fund and Lauren is a doctoral candidate in English and American Literature at Stony Brook University.
